HLV Uglen installing world's largest underwater restaurant "UNDER"

"UNDER" - Semi-submerged beneath the icy waters of the North Atlantic in Lindesnes, guests are invited to dine five and a half meters below the surface - the panoramic view of the ocean floor providing the dramatic backdrop.

"UNDER", the spectacular building designed by Snøhetta, is on course for opening its doors in 2019.
The restaurant is situated at Båly, a small town near Norway's southern-most point.

Snøhetta has designed Europe's very first underwater restaurant. With its immediate proximity to the forces of nature, the restaurant, which will also function as a research center for marine life, is a tribute to the Norwegian coast and to Lindesnes, the wild fauna of the sea and to the rocky coastline of Norway’s southern tip. https://snohetta.com/project/352-under
The prefabricated 1640 tons concrete structure was launched on 27th July during night time. Early in the morning HLV Uglen was connected to the floating structure and the positioning operation started.
Uglen’s many options with regards to mooring systems are very useful for such operations, as the use of thrusters is  limited when divers are in the water

The gastronomic excursion
The menu at "UNDER" highlights the hidden treasures of the raw beauty of the local surroundings, and the delicious varieties of the pulsing sea. Head chef Ellitsgaard and his team are preparing innovative seasonal dishes that capture the essence of the pristine Norwegian coastline on the southern tip of Norway with its rich and abundant natural resources. The gastronomic excursion will be one that is not easily forgotten! https://www.under.no/
